This course is a general introduction of the Bible with emphasis given to its historical, geographical, and literary aspects. The purpose of this course is to help students better understand the historical context of biblical literature, and the relationship of the Bible to the history, culture, literature, art, and social customs of the modern world. A strong awareness will be nurtured on how the student experiences, through the presence of Jesus, the Biblical text in life.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Use the knowledge of the cultures and geography of the ancient World as reflected in the Bible to better understand the revelation of God to humankind.
- Develop a working knowledge of the historical and cultural background of the Bible.
- Explore the life of Jesus as recorded in the Bible.
- Apply the history of Judaism and the early Christian church as recorded in the Bible.
- Integrate the Biblical text and revelation with the student’s personal experience of the love of the Triune God.

Experiencing the Scriptures

Course Description
The course is designed to experience the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, instructing you how to open your eyes, mind, and heart to God’s truth through the Bible that will change you emotionally, physically and spiritually. You are given guidance and insight in how to become more effective in your efforts to know, interpret, apply and experience the truth, joy and power of God’s word. You will also discover some of the ways that can help you go deeper into the joy of a Holy Spirit-filled life and see the relevance of a true encounter with the Scriptures. You will come to experience the transforming power of God through this course as you live a holy life witnessing God’s truth through every area of your life.

- Gain a growing discernment of the Truth as revealed in the Old and New Testaments.
- Identify and explore effective ways of experiencing the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

Experiencing God

Course Description
Every follower of Jesus is to experience God’s presence, hear His voice, live by His power and be obedient to His will. This practical course is designed to bring a life-change in your relationship with the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. You will experience God’s presence in this course and how God reveals Himself, His purposes and His ways through the Bible, prayer, circumstances and the community of faith. You will practice being in God’ presence through experiencing the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, prayer, worship, service, fasting, solitude, evangelism, spiritual warfare, journaling and learning to live a life of holiness.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop a biblical theology for knowing and doing the will of the Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- Apply the spiritual principles of experiencing the Scriptures, prayer, worship, evangelism, service, fasting, solitude, spiritual warfare, journaling and learning to the student’s physical, emotional and spiritual health.
- Use the knowledge of experiencing God and your personal experience of God to empower other followers of Jesus to grow in maturity and witness to people who do not yet have a personal relationship of trust with the Triune God-father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Integrate Biblical revelation with the student’s personal experience of God in the student’s daily life.

Spiritual Warfare

Course Description
A considerable portion of the ministry of Jesus involved confrontation with the spiritual powers of evil. The demonic powers are as active today in the 21st Century as they were in the time of Jesus. All humans are the subjects of their influence. The Church needs to integrate in its way of being and doing mission in society and culture the biblical worldview that presents the spiritual powers of evil as actively engaged in threatening its existence and the effectiveness of its mission in the world. In this course, students will learn to follow in the footsteps of Jesus as they apply the victory that has already been won through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the dead in confronting the demonic powers who are active in the daily life of people, society, and culture. They will study spiritual warfare and deliverance from a perspective that integrates the victory of Jesus over the powers of evil with the peace of Jesus that is experienced in the inner life of the individual and in all areas of social relationships.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop a biblical theology of spiritual warfare.
- Apply the identity and authority of the follower of Jesus in spiritual warfare and deliverance.
- Develop a personal theology of spiritual warfare that will be useful in the life of the student and the local church and its mission to a world of violence and pain.
- Integrate the presence and peace of Jesus in the ministry of spiritual warfare and deliverance.
